Bow Bridge or Thorsgill Beck Packhorse Bridge, 17th or 18th century. Simple narrow rubble footbridge. One segmental headed arch with low stone parapet. Grade II (2). Overall length 10 m; width between parapet walls 1.6 m; roughly paved (3).
The site was visited by RCHME during a survey of scheduled monuments in County Durham. No recording was carried out. (4)
The site was visited by English Heritage during the an archaeological investigation of the area around Egglestone Abbey during November 2000. No recording was carried out for the bridge, but part of the flood plain to the west was examined.
