Summary : Fourteen Roman coins,of Constantine I (5), (AD 306-337); Licinius (4), (AD 308-24); and Constantius (5), (AD 337-61) were found in the Shapwick turbary, on the 7th Aug. 1868 and were presented to Glastonbury Museum by G.D. Warry on 7.6.1948. Probably a mid-4th century hoard.
More information : Fourteen Roman coins,of Constantine I (5), Licinius (4) and Constantius (5), found in the Shapwick turbary, were presented to Glastonbury Museum by G.D. Warry on 7.6.1948. (1) These coins are in Glastonbury Museum, (G.M.158) and the index states they were "found beneath peat in Shapwick Turf Moor on the 7th Aug. 1868". (2)
