More information : [ST 4889 3865] ALMSHOUSES [GT] Chap. [TI] (1) The Hospital of St. Mary, Glastonbury, consisted originally of a 13th c. hall, which served as the living and sleeping rooms of the inmates with a chapel at the E. end. Through 14th c alterations, the hall has been unroofed, and the cubicles that lined the outer walls have given place to two rows of small houses, which have so encroached upon the hall as to reduce it to a narrow passage. Extensive repairs took place in the early 18th c. (2) Plan See Photo. AO/LP/64/210 (3) Hospital of St. Mary Magdalene. Founded 13th c. not suppressed in the 16th c. (4) Scheduled (5).
