More information : To the west and south-west of Muchelney Abbey was the barton of the demesne farm, which includes a 9-bay barn probably dating from the early 16th century. It is of lias stone with Ham stone dressings, and has some original slit openings in the ground floor and a four-centred doorway near the south end. The structural evidence suggests that it was at least partly 2-storeyed. (Barn at ST 42782491 on plan). (1)
