NY 9361 7484. Round cairn 450m SSE of Swinburne Castle. Scheduled RSM No 20934. The cairn, constructed of large stones and earth, is 18m in diameter and 1.3m high. The surrounding ditch can be seen as a slight hollow on the E and S sides and there are traces of a retaining kerb. The cairn shows signs of a central disturbance, the result of the partial excavation in 1925, which recovered charcoal and burnt wood. The cairn was known to local antiquarians as 'the King's Seat'.
