Summary : A large circular mound is shown on the 1843 tithe map and has been interpreted as a possible barrow. There is no sign of this feature on the ground.
More information : A large circular mound named "Robin Hoods Butt" is shown on open, unenclosed, ground on the Tithe Map of 1843. Other mounds shown on this map and having a similar appellation are large barrows (See ST 21 SW 9 & 10) There is now no trace of this mound. Its plotted position, at ST 22801575, falls on, or very close to, a road and the land on either side has been enclosed. (1)
