Summary : Site of an artifical mound, 59 ft. in diameter and four ft. high, destroyed by quarrying. Excavation failed to discover any evidence for its purpose, it does not appear to have been a barrow.
More information : [NY 9276 6986] Tumulus [O.E.] (1)

Excavated by M.O.W. in October 1957. The feature consisted of an artificial circular mound 59 ft. in diameter and four feet high, built upon the natural limestone. It was considered unlikely to have been a burial mound, since neither burial, nor evidence for disturbance, nor any artefacts were found. (2)

The mound has been completely destroyed by quarry extensions. (3)
