Summary : Ruined remains of a bastle forming part of a ruinous farmstead known as Low Stobby Lee. The bastle is one of three bastles in the locality, the other two being found at NGR NY 84657 80828 and NY 85087 80912.
More information : 'NY 839809' A peel, or bastle at Shield Field. (1)

Shield Field at NY 83438047 is a recent farmhouse, but the remains of a bastle, measuring 10.5m x 6.8m, with walls 1.2m thick and 4.0m maximum height, are incorporated in a ruined farmstead, known as Low Stabbylee a., at NY 83838071.

NY 838807 Remains of bastle. (See Type-site NY 88 SE 14). Beside the bastle, there are are 2 other bastles in close proximity. East of the farm at NY846808 are 2 walls of a bastle measuring 16 feet by 24 feet with walls 4-4.5 feet thick. Further East at NY850809 are the foundations of another building of similar size, now grassed over. (3)
