Summary : A Roman tombstone was found around 1778 at Chesterhope near Risingham. It is now (2014) in the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle.
More information : A Roman inscribed gravestone with gable top and pediment
and three rosettes at the angles of the pediment, was found at
Chesterhope near Risingham in 1778. Now in Alnwick Museum (1)(2)

Chesterhope now occupied by High Chesterhope) (OS 6" 19212-48). (3)

The stone is still in Alnwick Museum. (4)

This tombstone is now in the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle. Its accession number is 1958.28.N. (5)
