Summary : A fragment of an inscribed Roman tombstone recorded in 1910 was rediscovered in 1947 in the east gable end of Yellow House.
More information : A Roman inscribed gravestone fragment was noted by a mason in the
wall of a house at Woodburn. A sketch was made and exhibited to the
Society of Ants Newcastle. (1)

(NY 89538707) Part of a Roman tombstone 20" x 20" recorded in 1910
as being built into a house at Woodburn and rediscovered in 1947 in
the east gable of Yellow House. (2)

(NY 89598707) The stone is set high in the east gable end of Yellow
House. The inscription is visible but cannot be read from ground
level. See photograph for position of stone. (3)
