More information : Centred at NT 921071 and built up onto the lower N facing slopes of the fort (NT 90 NW 16) are the remains of a settlement of six hut-circles ('A' to 'F') all rather ill-defined and partly mutilated. (See enlargement at 1:2500). The huts, mainly visible as circular platforms all about 8.0m diameter, are set out from W to E along the slope almost in line. The best preserved, 'D', appears to have had an enclosure round it, now seen as a back scarp on its S side and a frontal build up on the NW. There is no evidence of an associated field system but the settlement, most probably IA/RB, is possibly contemporary with the banks and enclosures around the fort base to the SW and SE. Surveyed at 1:10 000. (1)
