NY 81435793 Old Town is a farmhouse with out-building which incorporates the remains of a Defended House. It is of two storeys with walls of rough dressed stone on strong foundations.
Similar Defended Houses exist at Gatehouses, (NY 788890) and were dated 'Tudor'. (3)

NY 814579 Wester Old Town. Farmhouse incorporating a bastle. (See Type Site NY 88 SE 14) (5)
Bastle and barn. The bastle was built in the late 16th/early 17th century, remodelled circa 1700 and partly rebuilt in 1984. It is 2 storeyed and built of stone rubble with a 20th century metal roof. The barn is dated 1821, and is also of rubble stone but with a stone slate roof. Listed Grade II. (6)
