More information : A 20th century sand and gravel extraction quarry is visible as earthworks and associated structures centred at approximately SD 5221 7257 on aerial photography and lidar imagery.

The open area excavation is responsible for the destruction of a Bronze Age ring cairn (UID 887111), which was archaeologically recorded in advance of the quarrying. The extraction site measures a total area of 5.62 hectares and is largely filled by an artificial lake on the latest 2014 vertical imagery (1-2).
