More information : In 1970s a quarry was opened along the small valley between Low Plains and Abbots Moss Farm. There is limited photographic coverage for the 1970s and 1980s and as they were subsequently relandscaped it is difficult to deduce the maximum extent of the workings but they appear to have covered at least 12 hectares. Most of these workings have been infilled and reverted to arable or pasture, the southern end has been relandscaped and built upon. (1-2)
