More information : (NY 75398613) An old Pele called "Camp Cottage" (1) Probably stood at NY 75438613 where a section of stone wall 3m high and 1.4m thick forms the east end of a building 11m by 6m which is reduced elsewhere to ground level (see sketch and photograph). The remains are probably those of a 'strong (or pele) house' (rather than a tower), which was later rebuilt, as indicated by the weaker foundations of the rest of the present building. (2) NY 754861 Remains of bastle.(See Type-site NY 88 SE 14) (3)
The bastle ruin is 40 yards east of the present farmhouse, only one wall remaining to a height of 5 feet (4)
