More information : (NY 7545 6395) An inscribed Roman altar found in 1838 (No.1683) in the foundations of a cottage at Hardriding, 1 3/4 miles SW of Chesterholm fort, is now in Chesters Museum. Prof. Birley suggests that it probably came from a local shrine to Cocidius rather than from the fort-site. (1) No further information. (2)
