More information : Blocks of possible medieval ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on historic air photos at SE4127 6624. This ridge and furrow lies between Hall Arm Lane and Brickfield Lane. Most of the furlongs run perpendicular between the route of the Roman Road (UID 1030521) and the River Swale. A narrow strip of ridge and furrow at SE4130 6579 appears to have survived as earthworks on the lidar-derived images, some of the earthworks at SE4187 6634 were presumably destroyed by the large pond and the rest appears to have been levelled on the 2009 Google Earth air photos.
