Detailed survey preceded consolidation of the bastle walls in 1986. (5)
NY 7902 6874. The consolidated remains of the bastle are as described and planned by authorities 4 and 5. A later drying kiln occupying the East Roman guard chamber is entered from the interior of the bastle. It is difficult to date the bastle exactly, but it may be around 1600. Surveyed at 1:1000 by RCHME. (6)
