More information : The cropmark remains of a Roman villa are visible centred at SU 4370 9542 on aerial photographs taken in 1990. The villa is located within a large area of Roman and Iron Age settlement, south-east of the Roman road running from Oxford to Wantage (recorded in UID 974354) . The villa was previously recorded in UID 234095 together with the settlement already mentioned, where it was described to be of corridor plan. It overlies a substantial enclosure ditch, presumably associated with the Iron Age settlement. It is not clear which other features may be associated with the Roman villa and which with the Iron Age settlement. (1)
