Summary : Site of a shop, later a first aid post, and public toilets situated at the former South Gate at London Zoo. It was designed by Franz Stengelhofen, when he was the Zoo's architect, and constructed in 1967. The shop was converted to a first aid post in 1985-86, when the South Gate was closed. The buildings were built of brick and were single storey. The site is now occupied by B.U.G.S (Biodiversity Underpinning Global Survival), an exhibit which was first known as the Web of Life. This was built in 1999 by Wharmby Kozdon Associates. |
