Summary : Two ten-storey T-plan balcony access blocks built as public housing. Each block contains 60 one and two-bedroomed flats, providing 120 dwellings in total. Each flat is comprised of an entrance hall, kitchen, living room, bedroom(s), bathroom and private baclony. Construction was approved by committee in 1958.
More information : The blocks were commissioned by Leeds County Borough Council. The Primary and Alternate addresses are the individual addresses of each tower block; both are current and of equal status. The Alternate Name is the name that was given to the contract for the development. (1)

Seacroft Gate was the first block of multi-storey flats to be completed at Seacroft; it was officially opened by Denis Healey MP on 9th November 1959. (2)

At the time of the opening, the blocks were two of eight blocks being built for Leeds Corportion Housing Committee by William Townson & Sons Ltd., for a sum cntract of £1,000, 000. (3)
