DESCRIPTION

A seventeen-storey tower block built as a public housing redevelopment as part of the Queen's Park Estate. The block contains 32 one-bedroom flats and 32 two-bedroom flats making 64 dwellings in total. The one-bedroom flats were adapted for elderly residents. The block was designed by the contractor's architect, Donald Bradshaw. Construction was approved by committee in 1964.

The block was constructed for Blackpool County Borough Council. The Alternate Name is the name that was given to the contract for the development. (1)

The contract included 2 three-storey blocks. John Turner & Sons (Preston) Ltd.'s tender for the contract was £241,399 15s. 0d. (2)

The architect for the block was also responsible for the design of the original layout plan for the Queen's Park Estate. (3)
