More information : (NY 72942177) Murton Hall (NAT) (1) Murton Hall, stands on the east side of the village. It is of two storeys; the walls are of rubble and the roofs are slate-covered. The east part of the mains block, now a cow-house, dates probably from the second half of the 14th century. The middle part of the mains block was built or rebuilt in the second half of the 16th century and west end of the block is probably a slightly later addition. The long wing projecting to the north was added in the second half of the 17th century and the small wing or dairy on the same side dates probably from late in the same century.
