Summary : Two seventeen-storey tower blocks built as public housing. The blocks contain 264 dwellings in total. Construction was approved by committee in 1971.
More information : The blocks were constructed by Teeside County Borough Council. The Primary and Alternate addresses of Hume House and Nolan House are the individual addresses of each block; both are current and of equal status. The Alternate Name is the name that was given to the contract. (1) George Wimpey Co. Ltd.'s accepted tender for the contract was £1,025,087.This included the price of 84 garages. Wimpey based the cost and design of the blocks on their Cargo Fleet Lane contract, which was also for two seventeen-storey blocks in the Teeside area. (2-3)
