Summary : Two seventeen-storey tower blocks built as public housing as part of a mixed development. The blocks consisted of 264 dwellings in total. Construction was approved by committee in 1971. One block was scheduled for demolition, but still stands 2014. .

George Wimpey and Co. Ltd.'s tender for the contract was £1,038,064.87. The date of demolition of the second block, Thorntree House, is unknown. The location of the second block is thought to have been approximately NZ 52626 18386. (2)
