| More information : A Second World War anti aircraft gun emplacement is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs and has been mapped as part of the Mendip AONB NMP aerial survey. The emplacement is centred at ST 3440 5970 and located within the former RAF Weston-super-Mare airfield to the west of moor lane. The emplacement was designed for a Bofors AA gun as part of the airfield defences for the airfield. The gun emplacement was demolished as seen on aerial photographs taken in 1950. (1-2) |
