Summary : A Second World War Bessonneau Aircraft Hangar is visible as an extant building on aerial photographs. The hangar is located to the east of Moor Land adjacent to Bow Bridge on the southern boundary of the former RAF Weston super mare airfield. The hangar measures 22m in length and 13m in width. There is only one entrance to the north east side. The hangar appears to have been enlarged from a 3 bay hanger to a 6 bay hangar between 1954 and 1960. The hangar appears to have been in use on aerial photographs in 1989 but was subsequently demolished before 2006. Ruined parts of the hangar structure are still visible on the ground. |
