Summary : The alleged site of a castle at Castleber. Field investigation in 1978 failed to discover any evidence for a castle.

"Castleber" a low hill .... where it is said a castle once stood".

'Castleber' is a prominent natural hill-ridge with excellent all-round visibility from its summit. The area is ploughed and featureless and is still known as Castleber. The origin of the name is unknown locally. (3)
