Summary : Second World War Type 22 pillbox north of the M.T. Yard at Boscombe Down airfield. A defence tunnel terminates close by. This is one of fourteen pillboxes built to defend the airfield, of which ten survive. It differed from the normal Type 22 pillbox in that it was not provided with an anti-ricochet wall.
