Summary : An area of extensive 17th century limestone hushing which is particularly well-documented, the earliest references dating to 1609. The site, on the Long Causeway, consists of an extensive system of head ponds, gutters, banks left behind by the hushing, spoil heaps, and approximately nineteen lime kilns.
