Summary : 1739 wreck of English pleasure craft which foundered off Berwick-upon-Tweed with all hands. From the description as a "boat" she may have had either sails or oars, or both, but was certainly constructed of wood.
More information : 'London, September 6...A few days ago, two masters of fishing smacks, to wit, Hanks and Stebbing, with a young gentleman from London, and three servants, going to take their pleasure in a boat at sea near Berwick, the boat was cast away, and every soul lost.'
