Summary : Site of a Bronze Age miniature ditched bowl barrow forming part of the Lambourn Seven Barrow Cemetery. This barrow, known as Barrow 31 by Case, was excavated by E. Martin Atkins during the 1850s. The excavations located a primary male inhumation, probably crouched and laying on left side, with arrowheads found at the feet. Other finds included beaker pottery, flint tools including a knife and scraper and a jet button. The barrow has been destroyed since 1951 and cannot be located on aerial photographs. |

This barrow is one of thirty six barrows listed by Case as Barrow 31. [see plan AO/LP/63/105 for numbering and siting]. It was a miniature ditched bowl barrow excavated by E. Martin Atkins in the 1850s. (2) The barrow (Barrow 31) at SU 3276 8266 has been destroyed since 1951.(3)
