Summary : A Bronze Age bell barrow situated 400 metres northeast of Postdown Farm, forming part of the Lambourn Seven Barrows Cemetery. The barrow, known as Barrow 19 by Case and previously recorded as a bowl barrow, has a diameter of 35 metres and survives under cultivation to a height of one metre. Excavations in 1978 located a dog burial within the centre of the mound and a cremation burial on the north side. The barrow was surrounded by a 5 metre wide berm and a 3 metre wide ditch. |

This barrow is one of thirty six barrows listed by Case (2) and is listed as Barrow 19. [see plan AO/LP/63/105 for numbering and siting]. (2) The barrow (Barrow 19) has been identified on the ground and surveyed at 1:2500. SU 3301 8260 a bowl barrow , height of mound 2.5 metres being ploughed. Almost ploughed out. (3)
