Summary : Barrow 16. A Bronze Age bowl barrow situated 400 metres to the southeast of Sevenbarrows House, forming part of the Lambourn Seven Barrows Cemetery, the core of which is located 130 metres to the north. The barrow, known as Barrow 16 by Case, is the eastern one in a group of four barrow, and survives as an earthwork. The mound has a diameter of 40 metres and a height of 1.5 metres. No traces of the ditch are visible. A hollow in the top of the mound suggests partial excavation which probably took place during the 19th century. |

[see plan AO/LP/63/105 for numbering and siting]. Scheduled (2-3) The barrow (Barrow 16) has been identified on the ground and surveyed at 1:2500. SU 3284 8268, ditched bowl barrow, height of mound is 1.0 metre. (4)
The barrow (Barrow 16) is visible as an earthwork and is as described above. It has been mapped from aerial photographs. (5)
