Summary : Barrow 4. A Bronze Age saucer barrow situated within the core of the Lambourn Seven Barrow Cemetery. This part of the cemetery comprises ten barrows arranged in two parallel northwest to southeast rows. The barrow, known as barrow 4 by Case and previously been described as a disc or saucer barrow. It survives as an earthwork and has a diameter of 50 metres. The mound survives to a height of 0.5 metres and the platform has a diameter of 26.5 metres. The barrow is enclosed by a ditch, 5.5 metres wide and 0.3 metres deep, and an outer bank 6.4 metres wide and 0.3 metres high. |

[see plan AO/LP/63/105 for numbering and siting]. Scheduled (2-3) The barrow (Barrow 4) has been identified on the ground and surveyed at 1:2500. SU 3283 8296, a disc/saucer barrow. Atkins shows disc; now looks like saucer. (4)
The barrow has been described by Grinsell as a disc barrow surviving as an earthwork, with an overall diameter of 50.3 metres. The mound survives to a height of 0.5 metres and the platform has a diameter of 26.5 metres. The barrow is enclosed by a ditch, 5.5 metres wide and 0.3 metres deep, and an outer bank 6.4 metres wide and 0.3 metres high. (5)
