Summary : An Early-Middle Bronze Age round barrow, part of the barrow cemetery at Field Farm, Burghfield. The barrow was visible as an incomplete cropmark, its eastern half had been destroyed by earlier gravel extraction, and is situated about 15 metres to the northeast of the bell barrow ( SU 67 SE 155). Excavations in advance of gravel extraction in 1985 found it to have an external diameter of 24.5 metres. A possible unaccompanied primary cremation was also recorded. |
