MONUMENT NO. 1451435

DESCRIPTION + /

The Roman Vallum is intermittently visible as an earthwork on air photographs. In sections the ditch, north, south and marginal mounds are well preserved while in other areas only the denuded ditch is visible. To the east of Haltonchesters the course of the vallum can be traced as a very broad shallow depression heading for the southern ditch of the fort defences.
