Summary : Farmhouse, recorded as incorporating the remains of a pele tower or bastle. The existing structure appears to be late 19th century in date, with no trace of any earlier fabric.
More information : NY 66639802 Kielder Head (NAT) (1) The farm of Kielder Head incorporates a pele of the usual design in its buildings. (2) No trace of a Peel Tower could be found in the farm building at NY66639801 which are late 19th century, (measuring 9.2m by 5.7m) with attached outbuildings to the NE. (3) A bastle was built at Kielder Head, probably in the late 16th century. Vague traces of it remain among the farm buildings. (4)
