Summary : A Second World War building constructed as the control room for a night decoy airfield on Cliffe Marshes. The decoy was built to deceive the enemy into bombing it, instead of the nearby Royal Air Force Gravesend airfield. The building is a rectangular brick structure with a flat concrete roof.The structural remains of the WW2 decoy control building described above was seen at TQ 7291 7724 to the south of Boatrick House. The building measured 10m x 5m, and was mapped from aerial photographs taken in 1947 as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. No sign of the decoy structures could be seen. |
