More information : A double ditched enclosure or possible fortlet of probable Roman date is visible as a cropmark on air photographs at SK 5614 9742. The enclosure is rectangular in form with rounded corners and measures 50m by 41m. It has an incomplete circuit of two parallel ditches separated by a berm of 3m. It is aligned north-north-east south-south-west along its long axis and is located on a shallow north-east facing slope just off the brow of a low hill. (1)
