Summary : Central London Sick Asylum was built in 1898-1900. The architects were Giles, Gough and Trollope. Verandas were added around 1920. The asylum was sold to the City of Westminster Union in 1913, and then in 1920 to the Metropolitan Asylums Board for use as a tuberculosis sanatorium. In the 20th Century the buildings housed Colindale Hospital. As of the early 21st Century they are empty and some are derelict. The Administration Block is Grade II listed. |
