Site Of Medieval Church Of St Martin

Hob Uid: 1435527
Location :
Lincolnshire
South Kesteven
Stubton
Grid Ref : SK8756049070
Summary : The presumed site of the small medieval Church of Saint Martins. No surface traces of the church survive since in was demolished around 1799 when it was already in a poor state of repair and replaced by a new Gothic revival church to the south. This church was believed to have been very similar to that at Claythorpe, which is of decorated and perpendicular architectural style, and therefore we can presume that it was of early 14th century date at the latest and presumably earlier.
