Summary : Two rectilinear incomplete enclosures that are probably Iron Age or Roman in date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The site comprises two L-shaped narrow ditches that partially enclose the area to their north-west and probably form rectilinear enclosures, possibly conjoined to a trackway that extends to the NNW and was mapped as part of the Yorkshire Wolds NMP. |
More information : Two rectilinear incomplete enclosures that are probably Iron Age or Roman in date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The site is centred around SE 8367 7189 and comprises two L-shaped narrow ditches that partially enclose the areas to their north-west, around SE 8364 7189 and SE 8370 7187, and probably form rectilinear enclosures, possibly conjoined to a trackway that extends to the NNW and was mapped as part of the Yorkshire Wolds NMP.
