More information : Type 28a anti-tank gun emplacement. Type 28a anti-tank gun emplacement. Adjacent to weir on S side of canal. Unable to gain access. Viewed only from opposite bank of canal. Unable to determine condition but no major damage apparent at a distance. However, the entire structure appears to be sinking into the weir stream. The foundations seem to have been partly eroded by fast flowing water on one side. PILLBOX LISTED IN WILLS (1985), RECTANGULAR, FACING NORTH WEST. OF CONCRETE WITH BRICK FACING. IS BEING UNDERCUT BY THE RIVER AND THEREFORE ENDANGERED. FOR AN ARTILLERY PIECE. W of Burghfield Mill, River Kennet, Calcot. (1)
