Summary : The site of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. The site was built as part of an extensive network of posts designed to confirm and report hostile aircraft and nuclear attacks on the United Kingdom. The post was re-sited from Stopes Power and was opened in October 1960 and the post was closed in September 1991. The site was found to be in a fair condition at the time of the Defence of Britain survey. In 1997 the post remained underground in a square compound in the south west corner of a playground at the end of Grangecroft Road and on the north side of a public footpath. By 2002 the compound fencing has been removed.
