Summary : A former World War Two military airfield, opened in 1941, closed in 1947. The airfield was equipped with three concrete and tarmac runways and Type T1 and Blister aircraft hangars, a number of hard standings and a blast pen for fighter aircraft. During the war it was used by 11 Service Flying Training School, later 21 Pilots Advanced Training Unit. By 1985 the site was used for agricultural purposes.
