Summary : Roman centurial stone, found before 1732 and now built into a wall of Dacre Hall.
More information : (NY 623663) A Roman building stone built into a house at a deserted hamlet called Murray about 0.5 mile E of Birdoswald. Now built into the west side of the cloisters, Lanercost Priory. (1-2)

There are no traces of depopulation in the area cited, and the name Murray is unknown locally. Tithe maps and OS 1st Edition were consulted, but these also proved negative. (3)

The centurial stone was found before 1732 and is now built into the wall of Dacre Hall by Lanercost Priory. (4)
