MONUMENT NO. 1400550

DESCRIPTION + /

Several large pits within the interior of Old Oswestry hillfort. They were originally thought to be the result of Post Medieval quarrying , but are now thought to be related to First World War practice trenching and training activities. They are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs.
