Summary : Tidgrove was in the Forest of Freemantle in the Middle Ages. There was a royal residence there in the reign of Henry II, £31 being spent on it in 1172. No further work is recorded after 1178, and the estate passed to the Augustinan canons of Sandleford in the early 13th century. There is no trace of the house now.
