Historic England Research Records

Monument Number 1388203

Hob Uid: 1388203
Location :
Northumberland
Falstone
Grid Ref : NY7210086500
Summary : Old records note that there was a bastle at Stannersburn, but any trace of it has vanished. A resident of the village has a very old picture which shows ruins of a building on a bank at its west end. This could have been the bastle, but there is no way of knowing since the ruins were removed circa 1900.
